Paid Online Surveys: Are they a Scam or a Pay Day?    by Charles Huckaby

I recently read an article proclaiming all online survey databases to be scams. I think many of these complaints portray the poor state of "get rich quickism" that pervades many people online.
The thinking goes "Bill Gates made billions with a computer, so I should just be able to turn mine on and get money to stream out." I do not believe in luck, but "Good luck" if you believe that's actually possible. On the other hand, maybe these facts will help you make REAL money through online surveys. 1) It is true, you will not get wealthy by doing online surveys. By rich I mean one hundred thousand dollars or more each year. But really, only one or two perrcent of the population reaches that income level doing ANYTHING. Some physicians even fail to earn that much after expenses. But many stay and home moms or dads do not NEED to earn that much. Think of it this way mom... how much do you bring home from work? How much do your have to pay to support your working habit? That is... additional child care expenses, lunches in restaurants, fuel, work clothes, the extra cost of eating dinner out because you had to work late and could not cook. And what is the emotional loss to your kids or being raised by a strange person? Sadly, many individuals discover that the actual profits from mom working outside the home (or working a 2nd job if she is a single mom) are quite small. So you do not NEED to earn a million bucks to replace it. If you can earn four dollars for a ten minute survey, that is basically the same as twenty-four dollars an hour! From your own home. Some earn even more but let us be realistic. Hey if someone stuck a five dollar bill in your face and said "take this or I'll throw it away"... wouldn't you take it? I would take it if it is legitimate. That is how I look at paid surveys. If you really need to earn only one hundred dollars extra each week, that is thirty surveys or less. (I can already hear the next objection coming...)
2) But you cannot get thirty surveys each week! Really? How many survey companies did you sign up with? Did you know that a disabled woman who HAD to earn extra money in a low stress job earned (on average) two thousand five hundred to four thousand seven hundred dollars each month entirely by surveys and focus groups? It is true. She kept on registering with many survey companies until she reached the point where she was getting enough surveys each day to generate the money she required. That is where having the RIGHT database comes in ...if you join a database with four hundred plus firms listed, you will more likely reach your goal.
3) But I can find ten or twenty Paid Online Surveys websites myself... so why pay?
I am certain that you can find them by yourself. I looked for six months off and on to find a "get paid to drive" program. But the cost of my time even at minimum wage was more than the cost of the database. I did cheat though and get the list for free when I paid to join a survey database. If it will take you more than seven hours to find four hundred and fifty survey companies, I suggest that you just pay the $34.95 to join a real database. Many people wanting to make daily or weekly cash will find that signing up for only ten or twenty easy to find Paid Online Surveys companies will not meet their needs. Note: The top survey databases give you "drive for free" and "mystery shopping" listings for free also! That makes joining a good one practically a "no brainer" for me, given the time I'have invested in searching for various opportunities. I have wasted lots of time looking for opportunities like this and could have saved myself HOURS.
